installation, make sure these files are the same on both
the Administration and MDS servers:
/var/flexlm/license.master
/var/flexlm/license.lic
7.
Copy the license files to the MDS server, as shown in the following example, where
south2
is the
MDS server.
# scp /var/flexlm/* south2:/var/flexlm
8.
On the administration server, enter the
show license
command and examine the output to ensure
that the licenses are as expected (that is, the license information has been updated).
9.
Log in to the MDS server and enter the
show license
command. Examine the output to ensure that
the licenses are as expected (that is, the license information has been updated).
3.11.5Upgrading from an SFSMDSOST license
The
SFSMDSOST
license limits the HP SFS system to an administration and MDS Server, that is, no Object
Storage Servers can be used. If you upgrade your system by adding Object Storage Servers, you must return
your
SFSMDSOST
license to HP and obtain an
SFSMDSCAP
(MDS capacity) license and one or more
SFSOSTCAP
(OST capacity) licenses. When you receive the new license files, use the process described in
Section 3.11.4 to add the
SFSMDSCAP
and
SFSOSTCAP
INCREMENT
lines to the
/var/flexlm/license.master
file. You do not have to delete the
INCREMENT
line for the
SFSMDSOST
license. However, it will be ignored once the
SFSMDSCAP
license is present.
3.11.6Deleting all licenses
CAUTION:
If all licenses are deleted from the system, no file systems can be created on the system.
It is possible to delete all licenses from the system, although this is usually only done in the factory to delete
“demo” licenses before the system is shipped. If it is necessary to delete all licenses on the system, enter the
following commands on the administration server and on the MDS server:
# rm /var/flexlm/*
# service hpls_flexlm restart
3.12 Managing remote access
You can allow users to access the HP SFS system remotely without a password by creating authorizations in
the system database. An authorization contains the public key of the user’s account on the remote system.
This section describes the following tasks:
•
Creating authorizations (Section 3.12.1)
•
Deleting authorizations (Section 3.12.2)
•
Viewing authorizations (Section 3.12.3)
•
