Troubleshooting

6.
Verify that the interconnect is
performing correctly.
1.
Run the network tests for the interconnect type to determine:
• the network throughput of the interconnect
• whether other applications that may be using the
interconnect bandwidth are preventing the Lustre file
system from performing at full capacity
• whether the interconnect is unable to sustain performance
for multiple clients and servers
For more information, see the following sections:
• Single or dual Gigabit Ethernet interconnect: see
Section 6.1.8.1. (If a dual Gigabit Ethernet is used,
ensure that you note the special conditions for testing the
interconnect, as described in Section 6.1.8.1.)
• Myrinet interconnect: see Section 6.1.8.2.2.
• Voltaire InfiniBand interconnect: see Section 6.1.8.4.2.
• Quadrics interconnect: in HP SFS Version 2.2, there are
no specific tests for testing performance on a Quadrics
interconnect. Use the diagnostics manual of the client
system (if one is provided), to troubleshoot a Quadrics
interconnect. For example, for an HP XC system, the
diagnostics are described in the HP XC System Software
Administration Guide.
In addition, see Section 6.1.8.3 for information on
Quadrics interconnect diagnostics.
Ensure that no other applications are using the interconnect
while you are running the interconnect performance tests.
2.
Ensure that there are no bandwidth conflicts from other
sources.
3.
Examine the interconnect switch for errors (see
