9.4.4

Viewing RAID Volume Properties

Follow these steps to view the properties of RAID volumes:

1.

Select an adapter from the Adapter List. Select the RAID Properties
option.

The properties of the current volume are displayed.

2.

If more than one volume is configured, press Alt+N to view the next
one.

3.

To manage the current array, highlight Manage Array and press
Enter.

Adding or Deleting a Hot Spare

Follow these steps to add a hot spare to an IM volume:

1.

On the Manage Array screen, highlight Manage Hot Spare and
press Enter. The Manage Hot Spare screen appears.

2.

Move the cursor to the Hot Spr column of the disk drive you want to
use for a hot spare. Press the + key to change No to Yes for this
drive.

3.

After you select the hot spare disk, press C.

4.

Select Save changes then exit this menu to commit the changes.

The setup utility will pause while the hot spare is being added.

Follow these steps to delete a hot spare from an IM volume:

1.

On the Manage Array screen, highlight Manage Hot Spare and
press Enter. The Manage Hot Spare screen appears.

2.

Move the cursor to the Hot Spr column of the hot spare disk that you
want to delete. Press the + key to change Yes to No for this drive.

3.

After you delete the hot spare, press C.

4.

Select Save changes then exit this menu to commit the changes.

The setup utility will pause while the hot spare is being removed.
