The type of emulation assigns the drive letter for the CD-ROM. For
example, if a 1.44 Mbyte floppy emulation CD is loaded, the CD-ROM
drive becomes the designated A: drive, and the existing floppy drive
becomes the B: drive.

Starting the SCSI BIOS Setup Utility

When the SCSI BIOS loads, this message appears briefly:

Press Ctrl-C to start LSI Configuration Utility...

When you see the message, press Ctrl-C to start the setup utility. When
you press Ctrl-C, the message changes to:

Please wait, invoking LSI Configuration Utility...

After a short pause, the Main Menu of the setup utility appears.

These messages may appear during the boot process:

Adapter removed from boot order

This message appears if an adapter was removed from the system
or was relocated behind a PCI bridge. This message is information
only. No action is required.

Persistent settings INVALID, defaults saved

This message is informational only. It appears if none of the
information in the NVRAM is valid. This can occur when the BIOS is
upgraded, or when some external event has rendered the NVRAM
temporarily unreadable. You can either accept the default NVRAM
values, or you can re-enter the settings you want in the setup utility.

Important:

The SCSI BIOS setup utility is a powerful tool. If, while you
are using it, you accidentally disable all of your SCSI
controllers, press Ctrl-E (or Ctrl-A on earlier versions) after
memory initialization during reboot. This will allow you to re-
enable and reconfigure the controllers.

Note:

Some devices detected by the setup utility cannot be
controlled by the BIOS. Devices such as tape drives and
scanners require a device driver specific to that device. The
setup utility can be used to modify the parameters for these
devices.
