RAID Properties Menu
The RAID Properties menu initially lists all possible SCSI IDs on the
RAID adapter SCSI channel. This allows you to select disks on this
channel to be members of a mirrored array. Mirroring provides protection
against data loss by keeping two copies of the data on separate disks.
shows the RAID Properties menu.
Boot Support
Indicates whether an adapter is enabled for LSI software control or whether it
is reserved for control by non-LSI software. The possible selections are:
•
Enabled BIOS & OS: (default) Both the BIOS and OS driver will control the
adapter.
•
Enabled BIOS Only: The BIOS will control the adapter, but OS drivers will
not control it. Some OS drivers may not support this setting; for example,
there is no means to disable an adapter in a Windows driver.
•
Enabled OS Only: The BIOS will not control the adapter, but the OS driver
will control the adapter.
•
Disabled: The BIOS will not control the adapter when loaded. However, the
adapter will still be visible through the configuration protocol.
Changes in this setting are reflected in the LSI Control field on the main
Adapter List menu. Changes do not take effect until the EFI driver reloads or
the system reboots.
Link Configuration
Determines whether the port will set itself to the selected link speed or will
auto-negotiate instead. The choices are 1Gig, 2Gig, and Auto (default). LSI
recommends the default setting, unless some attached devices do not support
auto-negotiation.
Topology
Configuration
Indicates whether the port will default to N-Port or NL-Port operation, or if it
will auto-detect the link topology. (The default is Auto.) This option is non-
selectable.
Multi-Pathing
Specifies whether all paths to a device are displayed.
•
No: The BIOS display only one port per device found.
•
Yes: The BIOS displays every port found on each device as a separate
device in the Device Properties menu.
Persistent ID Type
Specifies which type of persistent ID information is recorded.
•
WWN: All persistent IDs are mapped from WWN to target ID.
•
DID: All persistent IDs are mapped from DID to target ID.
WARNING: If you changing this value from WWN to DID, or vice versa, all
previously set persistent ID information is erased.
Hard ALPA
The Hard ALPA value that you assigned to the controller.
Restore Defaults
Select this option and press Enter to restore the default settings for the
parameters listed on this screen.
