RAID Properties Field Descriptions
Field
Description
Array
Indicates the array configuration:
•
Integrated Mirroring (IM) is a sector-to-sector physical mirror of one drive to
another drive. IM arrays have two members (plus an optional hot spare drive).
•
RAID 1E is a combination of striping and mirroring in which each stripe unit has
a secondary copy stored on a different disk. RAID 1E arrays can have from 3 to
6 disk drives (including an optional hot spare disk).
•
Integrated Striping (IS) is a striped configuration with no mirroring of any kind.
IS arrays can have 2 to 6 active disks in the array.
The firmware that supports IM and RAID 1E configurations does not support IS,
and IS firmware does not support IM/RAID 1E configurations.
SCSI ID
(In the upper right of the screen) The SCSI ID of the RAID array.
Size (MB)
The size of the array, in megabytes.
SCSI ID
(In the left column of the screen) The SCSI ID of each device on this SCSI channel.
Device Identifier
The ASCII device identifier string from the device’s Inquiry Data.
