RAID Properties Field Descriptions
Field
Description
SCSI ID
The SCSI ID for the SCSI device.
Device Identifier The ASCII device identifier string from the device’s Inquiry Data.
Array Disk?
Indicates whether the disk is currently part of an array. If not, the disk can be used
to create a new array. From two to six disks can be selected in this column for a
new array. (The maximum is five disks if a hot spare disk has also been selected.
Hot Spare
Indicates whether the disk is defined as a hot spare disk. A hot spare disk provides
additional protection by automatically replacing an array member disk if it fails.
Status
The status of each physical disk in the array: primary, secondary, hot spare disks,
etc.
Predict Failure
This field displays Yes if the firmware has determined that the disk is likely to fail in
the near future.
Size (MB)
The size of each disk, in Mbytes, if it is not part of an array. If the disk is part of an
array, this field shows the amount of the disks’s capacity that is used for the array.
The later will be smaller because when the array is created the available size is
rounded down to factor in disk size variances within same disk class.
