Device Properties Menu

The Device Properties menu displays information about a specific device,
as shown in

Figure 9.8

. To access this menu, press Alt+D on the SAS

Topology menu when the cursor is on the Device Identifier field of a
device. Press Alt+N or Alt+P at any time while on this menu to cycle to
the next or previous device.

Expander Properties Field Descriptions

Field

Description

Device Identifier

The ASCII device identifier string extracted from the device’s inquiry data.

Number of Phys

The number of PHYs on this expander.

SAS Address

The SAS address of this expander.

SAS Level

The SAS level of the expander.

Configurable Routing
Table

Indicates whether the expander has a configurable routing table.

Expander Change
Count

The current number of BROADCAST(CHANGE) primitives initiated by this
expander.

Maximum Route
Indexes Per PHY

The maximum route indexes per PHY available in this expander.

Expander Target
Capabilities

The target capabilities for this expander. The possible values are as follows:
SSP: Serial SCSI Protocol
STP: Serial ATA Tunneling Protocol
SMP: Serial Management Protocol

Expander Initiator
Capabilities

The initiator capabilities for this expander. The possible values are as follows:
SSP: Serial SCSI Protocol
STP: Serial ATA Tunneling Protocol
SMP: Serial Management Protocol

Discovery Status

A 32-bit hexadecimal value indicating the discovery status for the PHY or
expander. Currently defined values are:
