shows the possible values for the Status field.
Array Disk
Indicates if the disk drive is part of an array. If Yes, it is; if No, it is not. The field is
grayed out if any of the following is true:
•
The disk drive does not meet the minimum requirements for use in a RAID array.
•
The disk drive is not large enough to mirror existing data.
•
The disk drive has been configured as a hot spare.
•
The array already has the maximum number of disk drives.
Hot Spare
Indicates if the disk drive is a hot spare for a RAID array. If Yes, it is; if No, it is not.
IM and RAID 1E arrays can have one optional hot spare each. Hot spares can be
created when the array is created or can be added later. RAID 1E arrays with a hot
spare disk can have a maximum of 5 disk drive members, plus the hot spare drive.
The Hot Spare field is grayed out if any of the following is true:
•
The disk drive does not meet the minimum requirements for use in a RAID array.
•
The disk drive is not large enough to mirror existing data on the primary drive.
•
Integrated Striping firmware is being used. (IS arrays cannot use hot spares.)
Status
Current status of disks that are part of a RAID array.
lists the possible
entries.
Predict Failure
Indicates whether SMART is predicting that the disk drive will fail.
Size (MB)
Indicates the size of the disk drive, in megabytes. If the disk drive is part of a 2-disk
array, this field indicates the size of the array, not the size of the individual disk. If
the disk drive is part of an array with 3 or more disk drives, this field indicates the
size that the disk makes up within the array.
