The cause of the fuse failure should be
identified before the fuse is replaced otherwise
it may fail again once the IntelliVAC Plus
module is powered up.
RTC Battery
The RTC battery should have a lifetime of at least 10 years so that its
replacement should not be necessary. However, if the RTC should
show to not be operating correctly and resetting the date/time
through RSNetworx does not function correctly, then the battery may
be in need of changing.

A properly grounded anti-static strap should
be used at this point.
Begin by removing power to the IntelliVAC unit. To change the
RTC battery (see Fig C.2 below), remove the two screws on the front
of the case and then remove the front section of the enclosure. Next,
remove the three screws that hold the IE circuit board to the IB
circuit board. Carefully remove the IE circuit board (note that there
is a 16 pin connector between the two boards) and place it on a static
free surface. Flip the IE board with the 16 pin connector facing
upwards and remove the battery from its socket and replace it with a
new battery (see Spare Parts list in Appendix C).
