the RS485 interface, for both the IntelliVAC Base and IntelliVAC
Enhanced modules.
This interface is used for two purposes:
For external communications to a DeviceNet network allow the
IntelliVAC Plus and IntelliVAC MC product to be controlled and
monitored by an external controller unit.
For Flashing the IntelliVAC Plus using ControlFLASH.
i)
This communications protocol operates at three different baud
rates: 125K, 250K and 500K. Various error indicators and
DeviceNet parameters are available to indicate that there is a
DeviceNet communications error present. See Tables 4.H and
4.I for DeviceNet Faults/Warnings.
ii)
When the DeviceNet interface is used for Flashing product
firmware, the ControlFLASH utility must be used. In this
configuration a PC should be connected to the DeviceNet port
using a shielded cable and a DeviceNet card such as a 1747-
SDNPT or 1789-PCD PCMCIA card. See Updating IntelliVAC
Plus Application Code in Chapter 8 for details on Flashing using
the DeviceNet interface.
DeviceNet Baud Rates
The IntelliVAC shall support 125, 250 and 500k Baud data rates,
selectable via a parameter.
The default baud rate will be 125k.
Selection of the DeviceNet baud rate will be as follows:
‘Select DNet Baud = ‘ ‘125/250/500’
The DeviceNet baud rate parameter will be available on DeviceNet
in the following manner:
‘DNet Baud = ‘ ‘125k’ or ‘250k’ ‘ or ‘500k’
AutoBaud Rate
The AutoBaud Rate feature allows the DeviceNet communications
baud rate to be set automatically when the IntelliVAC plus is part of
a network with at least one other device attached. This feature will
override the DeviceNet Baud Rate setting feature when it is enabled.
Selection of the AutoBaud operation will be as follows:
‘Select AutoBaud =’ ‘Enabled’ or ‘Disabled’
