Red
Fault
RESET mode or firmware crash
+5V logic rail is too low
Faulty Enhanced microcontroller
Firmware crash
A RESET condition has occurred due to the +5V logic
rail being less than +4.65V. Check that the input
mains voltage is within the operating range as
defined in the Electrical Specification
A RESET condition has occurred due to a faulty
microcontroller on the Enhanced module. Replace
the IntelliVAC Plus module.
A RESET condition has occurred due to a firmware
crash. This may be due to a high level of externally
generated EMI entering the wires connecting to the
IntelliVAC Plus module. Recycle the input power for
both the mains input as well as the DeviceNet power.
If there is no improvement then analyze the wiring to
the IntelliVAC Plus to determine if there is an unusual
amount of electrical noise present. If there is
excessive noise present, then rectify the situation. If
the unit still remains in RESET mode then replace the
IntelliVAC Plus module.

Fault
POST failure – RAM
Excessive EMI
A failure of one or more of the internal microcontroller
RAM cells has been detected. This may be due to
externally generated EMI entering the wires
connecting to the IntelliVAC Plus module, corrupting
the RAM memory. This may be due to a high level of
externally generated EMI entering the wires
connecting to the IntelliVAC Plus module. Recycle
the input power for both the mains input as well as
the DeviceNet power. If there is no improvement
then analyze the wiring to the IntelliVAC Plus to
determine if there is an unusual amount of electrical
noise present. If there is excessive noise present,
then rectify the situation. If not and the RAM fault
persists then replace the IntelliVAC Plus module.
Faulty RAM memory
The internal microcontroller RAM has one or more
defective cells and the IntelliVAC Plus must be
replaced.

Fault
Application programming error – CRC
RS485 cables faulty
Excessive EMI in vicinity
Incorrect program being Flashed
Incorrect communications parameters
1. Check that the RS485 cable connecting the
IntelliVAC Plus module and the PC is correct.
2. Check that there is not an unusual amount of EMI
being emitted from external sources.
3. Check that the program being flashed is correct.
4. Check that the communications parameters are
correct (i.e. baud rate, star/stop bits, parity, flow
control).

Fault
RS485 Communications fault from IB1
Faulty interboard connector
External RS485 source connected
Faulty IntelliVAC Plus unit
Remove the IntelliVAC Plus front panel, remove the
three mounting screws and then remove the
Enhanced circuit card. Check that the 16-pin
interboard connector is properly mating and that there
is no dirt in the connector.
Remove the external RS485 communications source.
Replace the IntelliVAC Plus module.
