The IntelliVAC plus system is made of up two boards each of which
contains distinct firmware modules. The IntelliVAC Plus contains a
bootloader and an application, and the IntelliVAC Base contains a
separate bootloader and application. These pieces of firmware have
been designed to operate together to offer several different options
for updating firmware of both modules.
IntelliVAC Base Module Bootloader
The IntelliVAC base module bootloader is a program which is
programmed onto the main processor of the IntelliVAC base module
during construction of the module. The purpose of the base module
bootloader is to allow the IntelliVAC base module firmware to be
upgraded in the field. It uses a simple interface and can be accessed
through the serial port, and hyper terminal program included with
any windows based personal computer.
IntelliVAC Base Module Application Code
The application code is the code responsible for performing all
functions of the IntelliVAC base. It is upgradeable via the
IntelliVAC base module bootloader, and any PC with a serial port,
and hyper terminal software.
IntelliVAC Plus Bootloader
The IntelliVAC plus bootloader firmware is programmed onto the
main processor of the IntelliVAC plus during manufacturing. It has
the ability to be upgraded in the field, via either DeviceNet using the
control flash application, or using a serial port and hyper terminal on
any personal computer.
