7.1 Protection Function

The APS-1102 is equipped with a protection function that monitors the internal status and issues an error
or warning when it detects the following types of abnormalities.
If the beep sound has been set to on, a beep will accompany the displayed error or warning. (A beep
sounds whenever a protection function-related error occurs, regardless of the beep sound setting.)

a) Abnormal output

When output overvoltage or output overcurrent is detected, output will be set to off and the error
message will be displayed.

b) Abnormal power source block

When an internal power source abnormality is detected, output will be set to off and the error or
warning message will be displayed. If it is an error that occurred, all operations will become disabled
except for the power shutdown operation.

c) Abnormal internal control

When an internal control abnormality is detected, output will be set to off and the error or warning
message will be displayed. If it is an error that occurred, all operations will become disabled except
for the power shutdown operation.

d) Abnormal internal temperature

When an abnormality is detected, output will be set to off when the warning message will be
displayed.

See “7.2.2 Protection function-related errors”, for description of error messages.
See “7.2.4 Warning messages”, for description of warning messages.
See “5.6.2 Beep sound”, for description of the beep sound.

The APS-1102 checks for errors in the order those listed in Table 7-1 and only the message of the
error detected first will be displayed.
