NETCONF is supported on the Brocade MLX series, Brocade NetIron XMR, Brocade NetIron CER,
and Brocade NetIron CES devices.

NETCONF in client/server architecture

The NETCONF protocol uses a Remote Procedure Call (RPC) paradigm to facilitate communication
between the client (NETCONF Manager or application) and the server (NETCONF Agent or device). A
client encodes an RPC in XML and sends it to a server using a secure, connection-oriented session.
The server responds with a reply encoded in XML, as shown in
