Timing System Setup

Deck Harness & Horn Start Connections

Figure 29 shows a Near End deck harness connected to J10 and the cable from the horn start
plugged into J12. Remember the GND tab on dual banana plugs lines up with the black
female connector.

" scoreboard signal cable into J2 or J3 SCOREBOARD OUTPUTS as shown in

Figure 30. Make sure that the plug is fully inserted into the jack on the console.

Serial Connections

Pro Swimming & Results Software (MEET MANAGER)

Using a straight-through 9-pin male to 9-pin female serial cable (Daktronics part # W-1267,
10' or Radio Shack part # 27-117), connect the male end to J4 EXPANSION PORT for Pro
Swimming
software or J6 RESULTS PORT for MEET MANAGER (Figure 31).

Connect the female end to a serial port on the computer with the software (Figure 32). If the
computer does not have a built-in serial port, use a USB-to-serial adapter (Daktronics part #
A-1801 or Radio Shack part # 26-183) as shown in Figure 33. Drivers for the USB-to-serial
adapter should be found on a CD provided with it or on the manufacturer’s web site.
