Network Diagnostics
This section provide the Physical layer and IP layer network diagnostics tools for troubleshooting. The diagnostic tools are designed
for network manager to help them quickly diagnose problems between point to point and better service customers.
Use the Diagnastics menu items to display and configure basic administrative details of the Managed Switch. Under System the
following topics are provided to configure and view the system information:

Ping
IPv6 Ping
Cable Diagnostic
PING
The ping and IPv6 ping allow you to issue ICMP PING packets to troubleshoot IP connectivity issues. The Managed Switch transmit
ICMP packets, and the sequence number and roundtrip time are displayed upon reception of a reply.
Cable Diagnostics
The Cable Diagnostics perform tests on copper cables. These functions have the ability to identify the cable length and operating
conditions, and to isolate a variety of common faults that can occur on the Cat5 twisted-pair cabling. There might be two statuses as
follow:
If the link is established on the twisted-pair interface in 1000Base-T mode, the Cable Diagnostics can run without disruption
of the link or of any data transfer.
If the link is established in 100Base-TX or 10Base-T, the Cable Diagnostics cause the link to drop while the diagnostics are
running.
After the diagnostics are finished, the link is reestablished. And the following functions are available.

Ping
This page allows you to issue ICMP PING packets to troubleshoot IP connectivity issues.
After you press “Start”, 5 ICMP packets are transmitted, and the sequence number and roundtrip time are displayed upon reception
of a reply. The page refreshes automatically until responses to all packets are received, or until a timeout occurs. The ICMP Ping
screen is shown

The page includes the following fields:

The destination IP Address.

Ping Size
The payload size of the ICMP packet. Values range from 8 bytes to 1400 bytes.
