10) Repeat the steps in this section until the negative letters or numbers on the rear indent cartridge are
centered between the top and bottom edge.
5.5.3 How to Calibrate the Front Indent Cartridge Positions
If the device you are calibrating has a front indent ribbon cartridge (which has white ribbon and mounts
above the embosser), follow the steps from section 5.5.2 How to Calibrate the Rear Indent Cartridge
Positions, with the following modifications:
Everywhere the steps specify “Bottom” or “Bot,” read as “Top.”
Everywhere the steps specify “Rear,” read as “Front.”
5.6 How to Calibrate the Image Printer Module
These steps may be necessary after installing a new image printer or after installing software, firmware, or
driver updates.
5.6.1 About Calibrating the Image Printer
The EC2000 provides options to configure the image printer. Settings include how it prints, whether it
includes lamination (“Overlay”) on each side of the card, the stretching and position of images, the fonts
it uses to print each embossed Font ID, and so on.
5.6.2 How to Set Ribbon, Driver Settings, Card Exit Distance
To set the image printer to factory settings, follow these steps:
1) Install a YMCKO ribbon (see the ExpressCard 2000 User Installation and Operation Manual).
2) In the ExpressCard 2000 Utility, navigate to
Menu
>
Settings
>
Printer
to open the
Printer
Utility
page.
3) Press the
Auto Detect & Configure Ribbon
button. The system will show “Detecting Ribbon…”
on the button until the process is complete.
4) When the system pops up a dialog box reporting “Ribbon YMCKO was successfully detected and
configured,” press the
OK
button.
