To re-install the magnetic stripe reader (MSR), follow these steps:
1) Re-connect the MSR cable.
2) Press the MSR back in place (see Figure 4-123).
3) Open the image printer to make room for the screwdriver you will use in the next step.
4) Use the No. 1 Philips screwdriver to re-insert and tighten the right and middle screws.
5) Close the image printer and re-insert and tighten the left and final screw.
6) Re-clip or re-tie the MSR cable to the cover.
7) Perform any other service that requires the device to be powered off and open.
8) Close the top access door.
9) Power up the device.
10) Test the device.
Note, the other end of the MSR cable connects to the embedded PC at the location shown in Figure 4-124
(see section 4.15 How to Remove / Re-install the Embedded PC for more information about the
embedded PC). You should not have to replace the cable during standard MSR replacement.
