When power is on and you press the power button for less than 5 seconds, a soft
shutdown occurs. If you press the power button for 5 seconds or more, the partition is
powered down the same as submitting the power down command. Refer to
3.5.2
Command Buttons

You usually use the EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor power button for maintenance
purposes. Infrastructure Solutions Console or remote console interfaces are the
preferred interfaces for applying and removing DC power to partitions and cells for
normal operations.
4.1.4. EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor LEDs
The LED above the EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor LCD shows the cell operating status,
as follows:
•
Green, when the cell is powered on and operating normally
•
Amber, when a fault occurs in the cell
The LED below the EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor LCD is used by the power control to
indicate the existence of a communication fault with the Service Processor or
management firmware, as follows:
•
Off, when communication is normal and no faults exist
•
Amber, when communication with the Service Processor is interrupted and a fault
occurs
The interface does not have a button to control this function.
4.1.5. EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor LCD Back Light
The back light of the EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor LCD is

Off when the EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor is not in use in order to extend the
lifespan of the back light
