Partition Remote Console Interface
3-23
If you configure SNMP trap alerts, ensure that you have a trap watcher application
running as a background process to capture and analyze SNMP alerts. Refer to the
trap watcher documentation for information about using the application and its
analysis methodology.
You can configure up to 13 different destinations for alerts. Each destination has a
•
Minimum alert severity level: none, informational, warning, critical, or
non-recoverable. The severity of the event must be at least the level specified
before an alert is sent. The “none” level means that no alerts are sent to that
destination; this level is useful for temporarily disabling a destination.
•
Destination address to which alerts are sent. If the destination address is zeroes,
this entry is available to be configured.
Refer to
7.2 Configuring Alerts and the SMTP Server using remote console interface
and
9.4.2 Viewing Alerts Issued by Management Firmware
for information about configuring
alerts and how they look when received.
Refer to
Section 10 Troubleshooting Hardware Problems
for information about using
alerts in troubleshooting.
3.5.15. Network
Address
The partition network address, or IP address, is its MLAN address. You use the MLAN
address to log on to the partition remote console interface. Unless you change it, the
MLAN address of the partition is the IP address of its initial boot cell (refer to
3.7.3
Network Address
).
Figure 3-14
shows the partition network address page.
