Removing and Replacing CRUs

Customers are able to replace some faulty system components, called
customer-replaceable units (CRU). Use the information and procedures in this section to
determine if a faulty component is a CRU and how you can replace it.

11.1. Replaceable Units

This system contains a number of replaceable units that are designed to be serviced by
the customer. However, hardware diagnostic error reporting does not differentiate
between the two types of replaceable units. Any device that fails is identified as a
field-replaceable unit (FRU). Use the following lists to determine which units are
customer-replaceable units (CRUs) and which are FRUs.
