10. Select the alert destination and click Send Test Alert to check the validity of the

configured destination.

7.2.3. Clearing Alert Destinations using remote console interface

If you no longer want to send alerts to a configured destination, you can clear the
destination, as follows:

1. Navigate to the alert management page on the remote console interface for the

partition, as shown in

Figure 3-12

.

2. Select an existing alert destination that you want to clear.

3. Click

Clear Entry

to clear an alert destination.

A confirmation dialog box appears.

Alternatively, click Cancel to return to the Alert Management page without clearing
the alert definition and skip the rest of this procedure.

4. Click

OK

.

The Alert Management page appears with the destination cleared.

7.3. Configuring Alerts using Server Management

Software

Server Management software enables you to manage reports of events. ESMPRO Alert
Manager directs and manages reports of events through SNMP traps supplied by
ESMPRO Agents installed on partitions. You can configure alert notifications to be
reported in any of the following forms:

Alert log displayed in the AlertViewer window (refer to

9.4.1 Viewing Alerts using

ESMPRO Manager AlertViewer

)

Internet mail (requires the IP address or name of the SMTP mail server)

Pop-up message on screen

• Printer

• Text

file

Command for execution

You must configure the reporting functions using ESMPRO Alert Manager on the
management server and ESMPRO Agent for Windows or ESMPRO Agent for Linux on
the partitions. If you configure Internet mail alert notifications, you must configure the IP
address or name of the SMTP server. The following subsections provide procedures to
configure alerts in Server Management software.
