Troubleshooting Hardware Problems
Typically, Express5800 systems take preventative or recovery actions automatically to
handle a system problem. However, on occasion, a condition might exist that warrants
additional investigation on your part. This section describes how to troubleshoot your
system hardware on such occasions. (For information on troubleshooting software
problems, refer to documentation from your software vendor.)
10.1. Overview of the Recommended Troubleshooting
Sequence
If the system cannot fix itself, you should follow the recommended troubleshooting
sequence that is shown in
Figure 10-1
. At any step, you can contact the support center
for assistance.
The rest of this section describes how to perform these steps. If troubleshooting
indicates that the problem involves a faulty customer-replaceable unit (CRU) or
field-replaceable unit (FRU), the following section (Section) describes how to replace the
CRU or FRU.
