General settings include the following:
• Name
The partition name appears in the top banner of partition pages and other places
where it is needed to identify a partition. The current value appears in the box. You
can leave it or edit it. The name can be up to 16 characters, consisting of letters,
numbers, and spaces. Changing the name does not affect anything other than the
remote console interface pages.
• Partition
GUID
The globally unique identifier (GUID) defines a partition in management firmware.
The GUID for each partition is fixed and cannot be changed.
• System
GUID
This GUID identifies the partition during Preboot Execution Environment (PXE)
boots. The current value appears in the box. Normally you should not change this
value. In rare recovery situations, you might need to edit it if a customer
representative instructs you to do so. The GUID can be up to 32 hexadecimal
characters, consisting of A through F and 0 through 9.
