PCIe Card and Carrier (CRU)

1. Align the memory board with the bottom rails on the drive tray.

2. Lift the blue handle and push in the memory board.

3. Rotate the handle down to fully engage the board.

Replacing the Fan Module

1. Align the fan module in the cell, and push in the fan module until it is fully engaged.

2. Rotate the handle upward to lock the module in place.

The green status light illuminates to indicate that the fan module is running properly.

11.14. PCIe Card and Carrier (CRU)

The PCIe card and the carrier are separate CRUs. Error messages cannot identify
whether the error occurred in the card or the carrier. A failure occurring in a carrier is
unlikely, but is possible if replacing the card does not fix the problem.

11.14.1. Removing a PCIe Card and Carrier

To prevent configuration and operational issues, the PCIe card hot-plug capability is
limited to replacing a card with a card of the same type.

1. From the back of the cell, press and release the orange release lever on the PCIe

carrier.

This action sends a message to the operating system to shut down the card.
