Shuts down the operating system gracefully; that is, management firmware tells the
operating system to shut down itself.
Caution
Only a soft shutdown can result in a graceful shutdown of the operating
system, during which files can be closed and data saved. All other actions
cause an ungraceful shutdown of the operating system, and data can be lost.
• Hard
Reset
Shuts down the operating system ungracefully and reboots the operating system;
power remains on.

Force Dump (send NMI)
Takes a memory dump, sends a non-maskable interrupt (NMI), and shuts down the
operating system ungracefully.
Navigate to the desired command and press OK.

4.5. Network
The Service Processor has a separate network connection for each cell and partition in
the system. If you display the network menu from a cell menu, the values pertain to that
cell. If you display the network menu from a partition menu, the values pertain to the
partition to which the cell belongs. All cells in a partition display the same partition values
but unique cell values. You can update partition values from any cell in the partition.
4.5.1. Viewing Network Settings
The Network option on the cell and partition menus enables you to view and update
network settings for cells and partitions. All network menus have the same structure with
different values, depending on the context. To view network settings
1. Open the desired partition or cell menu.
2. Navigate
to
Network
and press OK.
The network menu for the partition or cell opens.
3. Navigate
to
View Settings
and press OK.
Network information appears on the EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor LCD, as shown in
Figure 4-11
.
