A standard effi ciency motor (Figure D38) with an effi ciency of 82% can be re-
placed with a premium effi ciency motor that has an effi ciency of approximately
90%. This will save energy for each hour of operation the motor runs. The
motor effi ciency is provided on the name tag of each motor and can be used to
identify the motors that are candidates for replacement.

“Dilution ventilation” is the providing of additional clean air to a space for the
reduction of the concentration of a contaminant to acceptable levels. This type of
