Searching for assets
On the Asset layout, PinPoint appears in a panel rather than as the dialog that you can display
from some layouts (for example, when you click Search on the Content Selector on the iTX
Channel Control layout). The PinPoint panel contains the PinPoint window and some preset
filter buttons.
The PinPoint window has the same features as the PinPoint dialog, including a search builder
and a results pane. Also, it has some asset-type selection buttons:
Through these buttons you can set up PinPoint to search for just a particular type of asset, or
for assets of any type.
Normally, there are asset-type selection buttons for video clips, audio clips, CGs, logos, still
images and schedules. There may be more buttons, for other asset types, or fewer; this
depends on how your system administrator configures the Asset layout.
You specify search criteria in the search builder, in the same way you do when using the
Alternatively, you may use the preset-filter buttons:
These buttons store search criteria. Clicking any of them prompts PinPoint to perform a search
using the stored criteria.
After a search, assets that meet the search criteria appear in the results pane in the PinPoint
window.
From the results, you can select an asset to work with on the layout. iTX passes selection details
to other layout features: the Media Viewer, in which you may load the associated media file;
the Property Editor, which displays the asset details.
Viewing search results
Just as when you use the PinPoint dialog, you can view the search results in two ways. You can
view the results as a list:
