INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
KEEP ALL PARTS CLEAN FROM CONTAMINANTS. CONTAMI-
NANTS MAY CAUSE RAPID WEAR AND SHORTENED COMPONENT
LIFE.
5. Ensure that the threads of the glow plugs are clean
and free from damage. Replace any damaged glow
plugs.
6. Install glow plugs (4) into the cylinder head.
For 402D-05,403D-07,403D-11 and 404D-15
engines, tighten the glow plugs to a torque of 12
N·m (106 lb in).
7. Position bus bar (3) onto glow plugs (4).
8. Install washers (2) and nuts (1) to glow plugs (4).
Use Tooling (A) to tighten the nuts to a torque of 1.2
N·m (10.6 lb in).
9. Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON posi-
tion.
V-BELTS - REMOVE AND INSTALL
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
KEEP ALL PARTS CLEAN FROM CONTAMINANTS. CONTAMI-
NANTS MAY CAUSE RAPID WEAR AND SHORTENED COMPONENT
LIFE.
1. If the engine is equipped with fan guards, remove
the fan guards.
2. Loosen bolts (1), (2) and (4).
3. Push alternator (3) toward the engine and remove V-
belt (5).
NOTE: Mark the direction of rotation if the V-belt will be
reused.
