CYLINDER HEAD/VALVES INSPECTION
CYLINDER COMPRESSION CHECK
Start the engine and warm up to normal operatingtemper-
ature.Turn the fuel valve lever to the OFF position, and
then remove the drain screw to drain the carburetor.
Remove the spark plug cap (1) from the spark
plug.Remove the spark plug using a spark plug wrench.
Pull the recoil starter several times to expel unburned-
gas.Attach a commercially available compression gauge
(2)to the spark plug hole.
Pull the recoil starter forcefully to measure stablecylinder
compression.
CYLINDER COMPRESSION:0.51 - 0.69 MPa (5.2 - 7.0 kgf/
cm2, 74 - 100 psi) / 600 min-1 (rpm)
