Introduction to Voice VLAN
A voice VLAN is configured specially for voice traffic. By adding the ports that connect voice devices to
the voice VLAN, you can configure quality of service (QOS for short) attributes for the voice traffic,
improving transmission priority and ensuring voice quality. A device determines whether a received
packet is a voice packet by checking its source MAC address. Packets containing source MAC
addresses that comply with the voice device Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI for short)
addresses are regarded as voice traffic, and are forwarded to the voice VLAN.
You can configure the OUI addresses in advance or use the default OUI addresses, which are listed as
follows.
