Voice Port 5 Configuration:
◆ Source of Extended Digits = MAP .
◆ Forward Delay = 4 (.25 sec intervals)
◆ Forwarded Output Digits = Ext .
The sequence of steps in placing a call are as follows:
1. The user attached to Node 1 Port 4 dials 33 .
2. When no additional digits have been entered for three seconds ( Dial Timer = 3 ),
the system assumes dialing is complete.
3. Because the configured number of speed dial digits is four ( Dial Digits = 4 ), the
dial string is padded with leading zeros. Therefore, the speed dial number 0033 is
used to find the destination in the map table.
4. The speed dial map entry at " 0033 " is retrieved and the call is placed to Node 2
Port 4.
5. After a 1/2-second pause ( Forward Delay = 2 times .25 sec), the secondary dial
string 5555 is output ( Forwarded Output Digits = EXT ).
When the same configuration parameters are specified, the following steps describe
the sequence of events that occur when the user dials a three-digit dial string:
1. The user attached to Node 1 Port 4 dials 333 .
2. When no additional digits have been entered for three seconds ( Dial Timer = 3 ),
the system assumes dialing is complete.
3. Because the configured number of speed dial digits is four ( Dial Digits = 4 ), the
dial string is padded with a leading zero. So the speed dial number 0333 is used to
find the destination in the map table.
4. The speed dial map entry at " 0333 " is retrieved and the call is placed to Node 3
Port 5.
5. After a two second pause ( Forward Delay = 2 sec), the secondary dial string 6666
is output ( Forwarded Output Digits = EXT ).
