9.9.1 Engine Alternator Charging Warning Indicator Troubleshooting

Engine alternator charging
warning indicator stays ON
while operating.
Check terminal “D+”
(wires 6 & 38) on alternator
for 13.8 to 14.2 volts.
Not
OK
Replace instrument cluster.
Light Still On
Check alternator belt tension.
If OK

Before troubleshooting any
electrical circuit, ALWAYS
begin by checking the
following:
1. Fuses.
2. Battery for proper charge.
3. All connections relating to
circuit are clean and tight.
4. Check instrument cluster
bulb for proper function.
Check 2W (BLK)
ground wire.
Replace alternator.
