Electrical System

Check 40-amp main fuse.

Check that transmission gear

select lever is in (N) NEUTRAL.

Engine will not crank or

starter solenoid does

not engage.

Repair connections or cable.

Check that park brake

switch is engaged.

If OK

If OK

Check battery for proper

charge and that connections

are clean and tight.

Check for battery voltage at

starter positive (+) battery

post (RED cable). Check

negative (–) cables for proper

ground and that they are

clean and tight.

With key switch in START

position, check starter

solenoid terminal, wire 106

(BLU/ORG) connection for

battery voltage.

Replace starter.

If OK

If OK

Check wire 106

(BLU/ORG) for open or

short to neutral start relay.

Not

OK

Check neutral start relay for

battery voltage at

wire 111A (RED) and

wire 112A (GRY).

Replace neutral start relay.

If OK

Before troubleshooting any
electrical circuit, ALWAYS
begin by checking the
following:

1. All connections relating

to circuit are clean and
tight.

Check wire 111 (RED) at

park brake switch and wire
112 (GRY) at transmission

shifter connector with shifter

in (N) NEUTRAL position. If

wire 112 (GRY) Not OK,

check for battery voltage on

wire 153 (GRY/WHT) to

shifter. If OK, replace shifter.

Check voltage on wire 1

(WHT) in START mode to

park brake switch.

Disconnect ignition switch

harness connector from cab

harness, and on the cab

harness side, check wire 3

(PUR) for battery voltage.

Replace ignition key switch.
