Note: Record the location, and label all cables to ensure
correct installation.
11. Disconnect the control cables from the joystick
assemblies. Refer to Section 4.3.6, a. “Joystick
Assembly Removal.”
12. Working under the cab, label and disconnect the
hydraulic hoses (Fig. 4-45, 1 through 9) at the cab
fittings. Plug the hoses and cap the fittings.

13. Remove six hex-head capscrews, six lockwashers
and six flat washers (Fig. 4-46, 1) securing the
access panels to the frame. Remove the upper (2)
and lower (3) transmissions covers.

14. Unlock and open the right engine access door.
15. Disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle pedal.
Follow steps 4 through 6 at Section 4.3.5, a.
“Throttle Pedal Removal.”
16. Attach a clevis (Fig. 4 -47, 1 and 2) to each of the
cab lifting brackets. Route a sling (3) with a minimum
lifting capacity of 2,000 lbs. (907 kg) through the
clevis’ to a hoist or overhead crane. Make sure the
sling is centered between the clevis’ to ensure even
lifting.
17. Remove the two upper cab-to-frame capscrews
(Fig. 4-47, 4) and two flat washers (5).
18. Remove the two lower cab-to-frame capscrews
(Fig. 4-47, 6) two flat washers (7).

WARNING:
Hydraulic fluid leaking under
pressure can penetrate the skin, cause
infection, gangrene, and death or serious
personal injury. If injured, see a doctor
immediately.
Relieve all pressure before disconnecting any
component, part, line or hose. Slowly loosen
parts and allow release of residual pressure
before removing any parts or component.
WARNING:
Wait for the hydraulic fluid
to cool before servicing any hydraulic
component. Hot hydraulic oil can cause severe
burns.
