Enabling, file types
Shared directories of the CNC PILOT: see table.
Computer systems in the network can access the files located in the
shared directories of the CNC PILOT. For security reasons, however,
HEIDENHAIN recommends initiating the data exchange from the
control.
The network rules of WINDOWS XP apply when accessing shared
directories.
The CNC PILOT distinguishes between the following file types, which
can be selected in the “Mask of files” dialog box:
All NC programs: DIN PLUS main programs and subprograms
NC main programs: DIN PLUS main programs
NC subprograms: DIN PLUS subprograms
Expert programs: Special DIN PLUS subprograms
Template files: DIN PLUS program templates
Program head lists: Subfiles for program head entries
Service files: Service files in the DATA directory
TURN PLUS workpieces: Blank/finished part definitions
TURN PLUS complete: Blank/finished part definitions and working
plans
TURN PLUS machining sequence: Saved machining sequences
TURN PLUS blanks: Blank part definitions
TURN PLUS finished parts: Finished part definitions
TURN PLUS turret lists: Saved turret assignments
TURN PLUS contour trains: Descriptions of contour trains
TURN PLUS DXF files: Contour descriptions in DXF format
Parameter files: Files of the PARA_USR directory
Parameter backup: Files of the BACKUP directory

way that only authorized persons have access to the CNC
PILOT.
