Post-process measurement G915
Post-process measuring means that the workpiece is measured
outside the lathe and that the measurement results are transferred to
the CNC PILOT.
Prerequisites:
The measuring device and the CNC PILOT are connected by serial
interface
Communications protocol: 3964-R
The measuring device determines whether measured values or
compensation values are transferred. The measurement results are
evaluated by the NC program. A global measurement result should
be transferred to measuring position 0.
With G915, measured values are received from the post-process
measuring system and stored in the following variables:
V939: Global measurement result
V940 Measuring status
0: No new measured values
1: New measured values
V941 to V956 (corresponding to measuring points 1 to 16).
You can use the tool life monitoring in connection with post-process
measurement. If a tool is identified as worn out, the CNC PILOT
inserts a replacement tool.
If the post-process measurement detects a worn tool, the tool
diagnostics sets bit 5 (see “Tool programming” on page 121).

Block
H=0: Reserved
H=1: Pending measured values are uploaded
The post-process measuring status as well as the
measured values last received can be checked in
Automatic mode.
Evaluate the measurement status in order to avoid that
compensation values are accounted for twice or
incorrectly.
