4.38 Lathes with Multiple Slides
End of program
Every active slide has to execution an M30/M99 to end the NC program. We recommend programming
M30/M99 without slide designation.
Subroutines
Subprogram call: The subprogram is called for the slide whose designation is programmed.
Subprogram end: The calling slide must conclude the subprogram with RETURN. We recommend
programming the RETURN without slide designation.
Synchronization mechanisms
Wait for slide: Synchronous function M97
Slides for which M97 is programmed wait until all slides in the slide designation have reached this block.
Program run then continues. Either enter the slide to be synchronized in the slide designation before the
M97, or program in the parameters of the M97 the slide with which it is to be synchronized.
Simultaneous start: Synchronous start of slides G63
G63 causes the simultaneous start of the programmed slides.
Synchronization over marks and positions
One-sided synchronization G62: The slide programmed with G62 waits until slide Q has reached mark
H or the X/Z coordinate. If the mark and the X/Z coordinate are programmed, the slide waits until both
conditions are fulfilled.
G162 Setting synchronizing mark: G162 sets a synchronizing mark. The slide continues running the NC
program without a break.
Note: In a synchronization with coordinates this coordinate must be crossed over. The actual value
applies. Therefore do not synchronize to the end coordinates of NC blocks, because they might not be
reached, for example due to servo lag.
Test run
The simulation supports the testing of multislide axes through:
Display of the paths of two or more slides
Display of NC blocks and position values of the selected slide
The synchronous point analysis analyzes the mutual dependence of the slides. The graphic displays
machining times, tool change, synchronous points and waiting times. Additional synchronous-point
information show details of the selected tool change point or synchronous point.
