Drilling, reaming, deep-hole drilling
The IWG generates the cycle G71 for the following drilling operations:
Drilling
Reaming
Drilling with reaming (special drilling)
If you enter the parameters for deep-hole drilling, the IWG generates
the cycle G74.
Feed rate reduction: For blind drilling and/or through drilling you can
define a feed rate reduction of 50%. The feed rate reduction for
through drilling is switched on depending on the type of tool:
Boring bar with indexable inserts and twist drills with 180° drill
angle: Feed-rate reduction switched on at drill tip – 2 * safety
clearance
Other drills: Drill end – length of first cut – safety clearance
(length of first cut=drill tip; safety clearance: see “Drilling – Safety
clearances” on page 601 or G47, G147).
“Feed rate reduction” soft keys
Feed rate reduction for through
drilling
Feed rate reduction for blind drilling
Feed rate reduction for blind drilling
with drill angle < 180°
