4.28 Assignment, Synchronization,
Workpiece Transfer
Multichannel systems
The CNC PILOT controls one slide per NC channel. Lathes with two or
more slides are referred to as multichannel systems.
Examples:
Machines for full-surface machining with opposing spindles
Multiple slide working on one workpiece
Two or more workpieces machine in one working space.
Such operations are programmed in one NC program. The challenge
for the NC programmer is in optimally distributing the operations
among several slides/spindles and synchronizing them correctly. The
CNC PILOT support that effort by:
Organizational instructions (assignments of contours/program
section to slides/spindles, etc.)
Synchronization commands
Mirroring of contours, tool dimensions and paths of traverse
Conversion of G and M functions
Converting and mirroring G30
G30 converts G functions, M functions, and slide and spindle numbers
with the aid of the conversion lists (MP 135 and following). G30
mirrors traverse paths and tool dimensions and shifts the machine
zero point about the "zero point offset" of the axis (MP 1114, 1164, ..).
Parameters
H
Table number of the conversion table
H=0: Switch off conversion and compensate the offset
H=1 to 4: Activate conversion table 1 to 4 and machine
zero point shift (MP 1114, 1164, ...)
Q
Selection. Switch-on/switch-off traverse-path mirroring/tool
mirroring for given axes
Q=0: Switch-off traverse-path milling and tool mirroring
Q=1: Switch-on traverse-path mirroring
Q=2: Switch-on tool-dimension mirroring
X, Y,
Z, ...
Axis mirroring on/off
X=0: X-axis mirroring off
X=1: X-axis mirroring on
Y=0: Y-axis mirroring off
Y=1: Y-axis mirroring on
