Global technology parameters – Tools
Tool selection, tool change, speed limitation
Tool off .. [WD]
When selecting the tool, TURN PLUS considers the following
data:
1: Current turret assignment
2: Primarily the current turret assignment and, additionally,
the tool database.
3: Tool database
TURN PLUS turret [RNR]
Specify which turret assignment is to be used (requires
“WD=1 or WD=2”):
0: Turret assignment currently selected in Machine mode
1: TURN PLUS turret assignment (see “Setting up and
managing tool lists” on page 490)
Traversing mode to tool change position [WP]
WP determines the mode of approach and the tool change
position. The sequence in which the axes are traversed is
defined in the IWG or, for the AWG, in the respective
machining parameters.
1 – IWG: The tool change position is approached at rapid
traverse (G0). The position and the strategy of traverse to the
tool change position is defined in the IWG.
2 – IWG: TURN PLUS generates a G14.
3 – IWG: Should not be used.
1 – AWG: The tool change position is approached at rapid
traverse G0.
2 – AWG: The tool change position is approached with G14.
3 – AWG: TURN PLUS calculates the optimum tool change
position from the current and the following tool. It then
approaches this position with G0.
Speed limiting [SMAX]
Global speed limiting. You can define a small speed limit in the
program head of the TURN PLUS program (see “Program
Head” on page 393).
