VLAN NAME
Syntax
vlan pvid <2-4094> name NAME
Parameters
pvid Enter the VLAN ID of the VLAN. The range is from 2 to
4094. You cannot assign a name to VLAN 1 which is the
default VLAN.
NAME Enter the name of the VLAN. The range is from 1 to 24
alphanumeric characters. Special characters, such as “_,”
“?,” and “*”are permitted.

Description
Use the VLAN NAME command to assign a name to a VLAN.
Examples
In the following example, VLAN 4 is assigned the name “vlan 4 stre:”
switch# configure terminal
switch(config)# vlan database
switch(config-vlan)# vlan 4 name “vlan 4 stre”
