SPANNING-TREE LINK-TYPE
Syntax
spanning-tree link-type point-to-point|shared
no spanning-tree link-type
Parameters
point-to-point Specifies the point-to-point link type on an interface.
shared Specifies the shared link type on an interface.
Description
Use the SPANNING-TREE LINK-TYPE command to select a link type on
an interface. Use the no form of this command to disable rapid transition.

The following commands assign the point-to-point link type to interface 2:
switch#configure terminal
switch(config)#interface xe2
switch(config-if)#spanning-tree link-type point-to-
point
