MAC-ADDRESS

Syntax

mac-address HHHH:HHHH:HHHH

Parameters

HHHH:HHHH:HHHH

Specifies a MAC address.

Description

Use the MAC-ADDRESS command to create a MAC address for a
specified interface. Use the no form of this command to delete a MAC
address for a specified interface.

Example

The following commands assigns the MAC address,“00C:6E73:2BC9,” to
interface 3:

switch#configure terminal

switch(config)#interface xe3

switch(config-if)#mac-address 000C:6E73:2BC9
