SPANNING-TREE FORCE-VERSION
Syntax
spanning-tree force-version 0|2|3
no spanning-tree force-version
Parameters
0 Specifies the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP).
2 Specifies the Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP).
3 Specifies the Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP).

Description
Use the SPANNING-TREE FORCE-VERSION command to select a
version of the spanning tree protocol. Use the no form of this command to
set the default protocol version which is STP.

The following commands assign interface 6 to MSTP:
switch#configure terminal
switch(config)#interface xe6
switch(config-if)#spanning-tree force-version 3
