SNMP-SERVER ENGINEID LOCAL

Syntax

snmp-server engineid local ENGINEID-STRING

no snmp-server engineid local ENGINEID-STRING

Parameters

LOCAL

Indicates a local copy of SNMP.

ENGINEID-STRING

Indicates the engine ID. Choose a value of up to

24 characters.

Description

Use the SNMP-SERVER ENGINEID LOCAL command to specify the
switch’s engine ID on the local device. The AT-S83 software converts the
value to hexidecimal format automatically. By default, an SNMP engine ID
is generated automatically by the software. However, it is not displayed or
stored in the running configuration.

Use the no form of this command to remove the engine ID.

The following command configures an engine ID of 123456789:

switch#snmp-server engineid local 123456789
