5. Testing Conductive Surfaces
1. Connect the RED test lead to the RED input terminal, and the BLACK test lead
to the BLACK input terminal.
2. Press the
TESTS/AUTOMODES
key on the 601PRO.
3. Press the
MANUAL
key, then press
*MORE
until the
DUAL LEAD LEAKAGE
menu is displayed.
4. Press
DUAL LEAD LEAKAGE
. The following menu is displayed:

5. Measure point-to-point leakage between the RED and BLACK input jacks on the
601PRO.
6. Detachable Power Supply Cable
The 601PRO has an isolated measuring circuit that can measure differences between
two points, independently of earth points.
1. Power up the 601PRO, and plug the detachable cable into the 601PRO Front
Panel.
2. Connect the test lead from the RED input jack to earth of the detachable power
supply cable.
3. Press the
Earth Resistance
(
shortcut key 3
), and then select the test current as
described in Chapter 3.
4. Press the
Earth Resistance
key once more to apply current.
The detachable power supply cable resistance should be less than 0.1 ohms.
7. Battery-Powered Equipment
1. Power up the 601PRO and connect a test lead from the GREEN input jack of the
601PRO to the enclosure (case) of the DUT.
2. Connect patient-applied leads to the applied part terminals on the 601PRO. Refer
to the
Automatic
mode procedures in Chapter 4, Auto/Step Modes.
3. Power up the device under test.
4. Select Class IP (internally powered) and run an auto-sequence.
