• Load the computer’s communication program and enable it to send a
device information file to the 601PRO. Transfer of the information should
begin immediately. The following screen is displayed:
baw126f.eps
When device records are received by the 601PRO, existing records with the
same control number as a record being received are overwritten; and records
with new control numbers are added. When the device record storage is full, an
error message will be displayed.
Device information records may be transferred from a file on a PC to the
601PRO from MS-DOS using the following steps:
• Set up the COM port for desired baud rate transfer. Type one of the
following at the c:\ prompts:
⇒ c:\ > mode COM1,19,N,8,1,P for 19200-baud transfer
⇒ c:\ > mode COM1,96,N,8,1,P for 9600-baud transfer
⇒ c:\ > mode COM1,24,N,8,1,P for 2400-baud transfer
• Transfer the file as follows:
⇒ c:\> copy file.txt COM1
The 601PRO looks for an end-of-text character EOT (Ctrl-C or 03H) or end-
of-file character (Ctrl-Z or 1AH) to terminate the transfer. If this character is
not included in the file itself, the operator may have to cycle power on the
601PRO, or type “Ctrl -C” to end the transmission.
When finished, the 601PRO will return to the
Device Record Utility
menu.
