Press the [ENTER] button.
The smoothing setting is fixed.
• The larger the number selected, the more stabilized
the value of smoothing and averaging becomes.
• In smoothing, select the number of data points to
be picked up for calculation of moving average.
• Select the number of times to perform scanning for
averaging.
The data of both ends of the scanning range could
be ignored while performing scanning.
Note
Reference
The smoothing function is used to refine the stability
of the waveform. The LT-9001 Series has two types of
smoothing function as shown below.
The procedure used to set smoothing is explained as
follows.
1
Select [SMOOTH] from [BASIC] on the
program mode screen.
The smoothing setting screen appears.
2
Select [SMOOTHING].
3
Select one among [2], [4] and [16] by using
the [
▲] and [▼] buttons.
4
Select [AVERAGING].
Select one among [2], [4] and [16] in the same
manner.
Smoothing
Smoothing picks up point data obtained
by a single scan and calculates the
moving average of them. The number of
points to be picked up (smoothing
points) is 2, 4 or 16. The larger the
number of smoothing points you specify,
the less rugged the profile waveform
becomes. The response time is not
affected.
Averaging
Averaging calculates the average of the
respective items of point data after a
specified number of scans. Pick the
number of times to perform scanning for
averaging from among 2, 4 and 16. Even
if you specify the largest number of times
for averaging , the sharpness of the
profile waveform is not reduced. The
response time becomes longer.
